The weekend is nearly upon us. If you’re wondering what’s there to do, take a trip to downtown Santa Monica and check out the newly remodeled Vans store with its Grand Opening happening this Sunday, April 15th. You won’t want to miss it.

Vans Store Build In Mission Viejo

This Thanksgiving, the locals of Mission Viejo can be thankful for the newly expanded and relocated Vans store built across from Pottery Barn Kids in The Shops Mall. The interior of this brand spanking new store has been brought to you by the good folks at Greydog Signs & Displays (yeah, us), and believe my unbiased opinion when I tell you, the place looks mighty nice. So if you’re in the area, make sure you stop by and say hello, or for those of you unable to move from the couch due to food coma from grubbing on too much turkey, you can settle for checking out these pics instead.

Hurley Launches Phantom 4D Boardshort & Capsule Collection – 1st Store Display Revealed

Nike recently opened its third Salvation store in Malibu that offers exclusive Nike, Converse, and Hurley merchandise. It coincided with the launch of Hurley’s Phantom 4D Boardshort & Capsule Collection, which was unveiled at the VIP opening party on July 7th. Upon walking into the store, customers are first greeted by this new collection of boardshorts as they are tastefully perched on top of a black triangle platform ornamented with custom 3d graphics and fixtures. We at Greydog are pleased by all the excitement this has generated and especially by the final presentation of the custom display unit fabricated here in our shop. This was the first of many more to come.

Our Newly Redesigned Website

If you haven’t already noticed, we have revamped our website to better assimilate our online presence into a cohesive whole. No longer do we have a separate window for our portfolio. Next step to take will be to intermix the blog with the website, in effect, having one constant design throughout.

Vans by Thalia Surf Shop (a Greydog store build) Opening Night

Thursday, December 2, Vans and Thalia Surf Shop celebrated the opening of Vans by Thalia Surf Shop in Laguna Beach (a Greydog commissioned store build) with 200 or so good friends that included legendary surfers Joel Tudor, Herbie Fletcher and Tyler Hatzikian as well as top longboarders Chris Del Moro, Alex Knost, Jared Mell, Tyler Warren, Nathan Adams and surf-n-shaping phenom Andrew Doheny.

The new store, which is adjacent to Thalia’s South Coast Highway shop, melds Vans’ heritage with Thalia’s bohemian beach culture in what is Vans’ first ever boutique surf partnership. The shop showcases a continuously evolving mix of Vans surf footwear and apparel including limited edition shoes and Joel Tudor signature apparel. Thes kick-off event spotlighted a photo exhibit chronicling the Joel Tudor Duct Tape Invitational surf contests held earlier this year, while a set by local DJ Geometric had the crowd trying to stomp through the floorboards.

Vans and Thalia Surf Shop are pleased to announce Vans’ first ever boutique surf partnership, Vans by Thalia Surf Shop (a Greydog Signs & Displays, Inc. commissioned store build). Opening November 23rd in Laguna Beach and adjacent to Thalia Surf Shop, expect to find Vans’ pinnacle surf and lifestyle footwear and apparel as well as special projects only available at Vans by Thalia in a setting that melds Vans’ heritage with Thalia’s bohemian beach culture. The store will open with the spotlight on Vans’ classic and progressive surf styles including the limited edition Vans Triple Crown of Surfing collection and signature Joel Tudor apparel.

Vans and Thalia will host a kick-off event on Thursday, December 2 with photo exhibit chronicling the inaugural year of the Joel Tudor Duct Tape Invitational in Virginia Beach and Montauk.

“With the beautiful space and the savvy clientele already shopping at Thalia in Laguna Beach, Vans by Thalia Surf Shop is the perfect opportunity to share the many stories we have with Vans Surf,” said Doug Palladini, Vans Vice President of Marketing. “This retail and marketing space will allow us to showcase Vans Surf product and content and broadcast them worldwide.”

Our New Flatbed UV Printer

We are proud to announce that Greydog has acquired a brand new CET X-Press FK512X Flatbed UV Printer. Similar to the X-Press FK512 model, our printer has a production print speed of up to 450 sq.ft/hr. and a 1400 x 720 dpi resolution. The Konica print heads together with specially formulated UV-curable inks offer a wide color gamut, quick curing, excellent media adhesion on everything from wood to glass to vinyl, and fine detail text down to 4pt.
